Photo taken on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010, Peregian Beach, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia.
The dawn service for Salt Baptist Church on Peregian Beach was being conducted by Chaplain Andrew Carruthers.
It was a bleak and windy morning and quite cold for early April. I don’t usually have my camera with me for church services as this is God’s time, not my time. Yet on this morning I felt, “take your camera”.
This photo tells the rest of the story. For just for a few minutes, the sun broke through those bleak, grey clouds and a shaft of sunlight looked just like God was giving his confirmation for our purpose there. We thanked his son, Jesus Christ, for being prepared to die on that cruel cross to carry the burden of our sin forever.
This was one of those photo opportunities where I said, “one day I’ll use that image.”
When compiling “Our Message” I was reminded of this photo which I felt goes well with Cameron’s testimony.
